Thursday

Just a regular day :)

Slow morning, meeting with friends for lunch & bowling, then a visit to DQ to see who can drip more of their frozen treat on the sidewalk.

We also had a 'creative' competition with legos. Luke told me that I was 'not very creative' today. So....daddy set a timer & we both presented our creations to him. I think it ended in a tie, but the whole event was a total win :)

Word Hop

With our eager (almost) reader, we are having fun spelling lots of real (and not so real) words!

Tonight, we played a made up game I call 'word hop'. Luke & I came up with eight words & then I would say one for him to run & hop on.

He LOVED it! I LOVED it! He got them all correct & spelled them back to me before I said another one. I think we found a great summer driveway activity!!

Today's fun

Luke is taking a marathon bath @ 4:00 due to the dirt & fun & sweat that today provided. I should remember to add popsicle drippings to the mix & I might give a clearer picture of his happily filthy state.

Today was AMAZING. Breakfast with sight word & letter/sound practice, pony ride & barn tour, picnic & hours of fun at a nearby park...yeah, AMAZING!

Thank you for arriving, dear summer. Thank you, Luke, for being an adventurous partner in fun & for helping me make friends with incredible moms of great kids.

Castle Park

Let the summer of play dates begin! If today's three hour visit to Castle Park is any indication, we have a steady stream of friends & fun ahead of us...

The bubbles are a real favorite right now :)

Memorial Day picnic

We made sandwiches in the car since our favorite sandwich shop was closed. We climbed things, ran around, fed the ducks & geese, blew bubbles & had a relaxing picnic. It was GREAT!

Bunny trap

There is now a carrot waiting for the bunny by the basket. Totally Luke's creation after learning that there is a nest of bunnies living on the side of our house :)

Zoo visit

Great visit to the wonderful St. Louis Zoo last week as a kick off to summer activity! It was cool enough for active animals (Luke's favorite was the cheetah) & comfortable walking & we had a wonderful day with Grandma Susan!
