Date night

These two don't look like they can get into any trouble, do they?

We had popcorn, watched a little Nemo, played and played, only had a couple of tearful moments, ate popsicles, played some more, and then Addie's mom came and Luke slept for twelve hours! It was FUN! (Uncle Glenn slept through most of it on the couch- that is a memory in itself) Addie was amazed that I let her have a popsicle and watch a Spongebob...saying yes is as fun as anything else!

A little sumpin...

...out of nuttin'.

This kid can make an instrument out of a couple of hardly used kitchen tools, some popcorn and a bowl. Love his creativity and focus.

Wanna go on a nature walk?

This boy was ready for an adventure on a certain three day weekend. The glasses really add to the look, don't you think?

 Follow me!
We found a few 'randoms' in the woods and the fields. The dogs did, too.

We used this string a couple of times to help each other up steep spots :) Way to be prepared, Luke!

His slap watch fit perfectly on this tree. Looks good, too!
 Some scat...
 ...a deer leg or two
A nice landscape with nothing out of the ordinary enhancing nature's work.

A bullet casing that Luke spotted under a pine tree.

 A skull, too.

 Happy boy...
Happy momma. He asked me towards the end to sit with him, hold him and sing the 'sunshine song' So I did. And I loved it :)
And then we walked home, made some hot cocoa, and Luke loved it! He even drank mine!

View from here

Since Florida, when Luke slept with us for two weeks, he has really wanted me to sleep with him at night. I love snuggling with him as he falls asleep, I love getting a little more sleep some nights when I knock out with him by 8:30, and I really love the morning when he will quietly go to the fridge, get his chocolate milk, return, dig into me for serious snuggles, drink his milk, and then say something important like, 'Mommy, did you know that I kind of like school?' or 'Mommy, did you know that Donatello built the Shellraiser?...REALLY!' So, most nights now, this is my view as I turn the light out and get some rest with my baby who won't want me to sleep with him for long ;)

For a friend

Luke decorated Ruthie's card, wrote her name and picked out a special Transformers balloon to go with her cupcakes for her birthday. I just love this envelope, and I love that he was sure she would enjoy the Transformers balloon :)

Ready for the day.

Robe? check. Paper (rolled Gpa Nick style?) check. Yep...he is ready for a great day. This kid cracks me up!

Extended vacation

This is Alyssa, our superhero babysitter, posing with Luke on the extra week that he was off of school but we were not. When she comes over, Steve & I disappear to Luke. Superhero babysitter for real!

They built the 'Blue Crew Fort' and enjoyed decorating and playing in it for days!
Just cute...

Snow day

Not really, but I took a half day off yesterday so that I could hang with this little snow ninja. He ate a lot of snow and enjoyed making walking tools out of other items. I think we will have to find a cross country ski event sometime!

Odds and ends

New pot, oh how I adore thee, pot full of carbonara, oh how Steve adores thee!
Working lunch on a Sunday. He designed his office and 'took' his lunch while working.
This card was on my desk when I got back to work on the 7th. Great husband and great promise to return to Key West. Such a treat!
