Odds and ends

 New pot, oh how I adore thee, pot full of carbonara, oh how Steve adores thee!

 Working lunch on a Sunday. He designed his office and 'took' his lunch while working.

This card was on my desk when I got back to work on the 7th. Great husband and great promise to return to Key West. Such a treat!

The next two days...

Were spent in the car for 10-12 hours each driving back to colder temps and trying to keep Arcee from sitting in the driver's seat and/or eat all of our drive thru meals ;) There is a Wendy's joke in there that will live for eternity, I suppose. 

The trip wasn't too bad really. My mom was not feeling well and was still a rock star at keeping Luke entertained, and everyone happy. Luke was just a rockstar and the dads did all of the awesome driving! We got back at night to an unshoveled driveway that my dad could barely get out of....welcome back!

Beautiful start

We went here http://www.nps.gov/drto/index.htm on New Year's Day. The photos speak for themselves, and it was a beautiful and super special way to start the new year. I think it might be beautiful and special any day of the year!

 The large ferry took about 90 minutes to get to the small islands so some of us played, some of us rested and some of us enjoyed listening to classic rock outside in the fresh sea air (Over the Hills and Far Away...remember that one, Dad?!)

 This sweet boy got 'a little seasick' hit the target for the most part when I held up the bag and once we hit land, he was good to go. With a new love of ginger ale :) Total champ!

 I am not sure what I like looking at more? That amazing sea water or the amazing man in the picture!

 Full cup of ginger ale for the ride back. It was a GREAT DAY!

Magical, indeed

It is just past midnight on the morning after this wonderful, magical, fun, happy night. I can't go to sleep yet, because I just keep thinking of things about the evening with friends, parents, amazing children and joy in the air.

A couple of quotes from Luke:

"Welcome to my North Pole Party! Walk on the candy cane lane with me now..."

"I am starting to pee in my pants" (He was so into Polar Express read by Gpa Nick, he didn't want to go potty, but we did make it!)

"I had so much fun..." with a sigh on the way home with Steve....

Some of the people that made the night what it was: Mom, Dad, Netty, Peppermint the Elf (total difference maker for the night), Ryan, our photographer extraordinaire and our just wonderful friends.

Thankful and happy doesn't really cover it, but that is the best I can do right now!

Some birthday fun

Trick candles, still blooming flowers to pick, celebrations at CCHS, funny attire, pizza and presents. I think my mom and dad enjoyed some fun with Luke (and us?!) for their birthdays!! We love you!
